Warm Greetings!!!
Welcome to the Department of English
Language shapes thought, and literature shapes lives. The Department of English is built on this conviction — and on a clear commitment to serve every student, regardless of discipline or background.
Functioning as an interdisciplinary academic unit, English language instruction extends across all disciplines — from Engineering, Technology, and Sciences to Nursing, Pharmacy, Aviation, Hotel Management, and Law. The faculty are trained specialists in English for Academic Purposes (EAP), English for Specific Purposes (ESP), English for Occupational Purposes (EOP), Business English, and Soft Skills development. Each course is structured to meet the language demands of the respective field, ensuring that graduates are not merely proficient speakers of English, but confident communicators within their chosen professions.
In the realm of literature, the aim is to think through texts — to build close reading, cultural understanding, and critical argument as habits of mind that serve any profession well.
The curriculum addresses the communicative needs of each professional field — academic writing for researchers, technical communication for engineers, occupational language for healthcare and hospitality professionals, and formal communication for legal and business contexts. This cross-disciplinary reach gives the Department its distinctive academic identity.
The faculty continuously explore innovative methods to engage today’s Gen Z learners through dialogue, digital engagement, and collaborative inquiry — making learning active and relevant.
Research in the Department includes ESL pedagogy, AI-assisted language learning, postcolonial literature, cultural studies, and communication studies — areas that feed directly into teaching practice and academic engagement.
Our aim is clear: to produce graduates who are employable, articulate, and prepared to meet the demands of a competitive professional world. Academic excellence in language is the foundation of every career worth building.
We welcome students who come with questions, commitment, and the ambition to grow.
