Teaching Methodology
Students are given class room training along with modern teaching mechanism and apart from this our students are exposed to “Tech Talks”(Seminars, Guest lectures workshops and Interactive sessions) conducted by Film, TV and Media Industry Professionals – averaging 10 sessions/sem totalling to 60 minimum 60 sessions during the course of study and also regular workshops on latest technologies
Highlights
The department features its own in-house production facility, Dr. MGR Viscom Production House, where real-time television shows are produced and broadcast on Vaanavil Television. Every student actively participates in production roles such as Direction,Cinematography,Editing, and storyboard writing. Each student contributes to the creation of approximately 30 to 40 episodes, earning on-screen credits along with recognition through channel broadcasts and YouTube links.
Viscom students also gain hands-on experience in film production through projects undertaken by the university’s production company, BENZZ MEDIA Pvt. Ltd., providing valuable exposure to the filmmaking process.

Our B.sc. Film Tech and B.sc Viscom Students has worked as Interns in all these movies.

The Renowned Actor and Director Dr. Pandiya Rajan, handles classes for the students on Short Film making & direction
- International Internships - Our students visits International studios which is organised by the university , enhancing them to get world level exposure.
- Tech talks is the most prominent feature of our department which is organised for every semester.
- Department of Viscom and Animation has a fully functional Animation lab and Production Studio that is catering it's services to the industries for the past FIVE years.
- The department focuses on the strengths and weakness of individual student and guide them accordingly.
- Special and Unique methods adapted to teach non-artistic students to do good quality animation.
- Outdoor visits and outdoor sketching for the students will be organised every semester for every year.
- Acting Classes are Conducted by the professional from the acting school.
- The students are exposed to wide variety of clay sculptingin Clay modelling Studio.
- Regular TV shoots happens in our Studio where students are allowed to be a part of the crew.
Internationl Summer School Programs – Students visit foreign countries like Taiwan and Malaysia to do certificate programs on designs and culture and get scholarships as well from our Univeristy .
