I’m so delighted to share where my journey has taken me since finishing my B.Sc. in
Advanced Animation at Dr M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, Deemed
University.
Graduating as the 1st Rank Gold Medallist was a pinnacle moment for me, and this
dream came true because of Professor Muthukumar. His teaching and the way he
guided me during the course gave me the solid start I needed. Even though I secured job
offers right after my Bachelor’s, the foundation I built at M.G.R. University gave me the
confidence to move to London for my master’s at Escape Studios on a scholarship.
I successfully leveraged a comprehensive toolkit of practical and technical skills from
my Bachelor’s and Master’s programs to create a high-impact final project, ‘Spark’,
which won the Best Animation Award at the Eastern European Film Festival and the Best
Animated Film Award at the Milan Gold Awards.
I also worked on a short film called ‘Selamat Jalan’ for the UK Government to celebrate
200 years of the Great Western Railway.
It’s been an amazing experience, but I will never forget that it all started from HOD – Mrs
Jeevalatha ma’am’s motivation and support. I’m really grateful to the University and the
department. I look forward to seeing the next generation of animators from our institute
make their mark on the world.
