The discipline of Psychology and behavioral sciences acts as a vital cog for effective functioning of professionals in all other disciplines, as it keeps the finer sensibilities and self, personal, and social responsibilities alive in them, paving the way for a composite, sustainable, and desirable development that venerates the environment as well as human sensitivity and promotes excellence in their respective disciplines. Department of Psychology was established in the year 2018 to offer an undergraduate course in B.Sc Psychology with a vision to be a leader in the cutting edge of professional skill development, teaching psychology, research, and to become a recognized and eminent education centre for various disciplines of Psychology and related fields. As an indicator of consistent growth, Masters program with specialization MSc Clinical Psychology was launched in academic year 2021-22, MSc Psychotherapy & Counseling in the year 2023-24, and MSc Neuropsychology in the year 2025-26, creating expert professionals who can function as Independent professionals in alignment with university’s vision of awakening this generation to take up the challenges of tomorrow, the Curriculum and pedagogy has been developed on the fundamental doctrine that “Understanding one self is the base to understand others” to ensure that as the students dwell into the inbuilt complexities of human mind, which is unique to each individual and help them get over their problems and distress, they do not compromise on their own mental well being. Since its humble beginning, the department has been successful in providing worthy exposure to its students, not only in the regular curriculum but also to the aspirations of the current social, Medical and corporate world, by instilling a professional attitude and skills in them As a part of our commitment to universal mental health, the Department of Psychology launched the “International Menstrual Distress Awareness Day” which is celebrated on October 8 every year. And with the motive to develop interactions and coordination for knowledge transfer among students of psychology worldwide, the department has launched the “World Psychology Students Day” which is celebrated 24th of April every year
