Department of Defence and Strategic Studies
The Department of Defence and Strategic Studies (DSS) deals with the education of military systems and national security. The course is crafted to understand the strategies and defence management among the civilians of a country. The course is for the students who are willing to serve our nation in various defence forms. It covers the study of Geopolitics, Military Geography, Defence Economics, Nuclear policies etc. It also includes Domestic and Strategic Challenges our National Defence and Security Interests.
The course aims to promote the development of military education and national security among the students. Ample job opportunities are available at Indian Army, Air Force, Education Corps, Defence Journalism, Civil Services, War & Geo-Political Analyst and Public Service Commission.

Vision
The vision of the Department is to generate adequate knowledge base in the discipline by establishing its relationship with other social sciences which is more pertinent to strategic environment and generating service-oriented aptitude by disseminating ideas of geo-politics through creation of compatible scholars ready to face the dynamic requirements of the 21st century.

- M3 : To encourage students to choose their career in Uniform Services- Army, Navy, Air Force, Paramilitary forces, intelligence services, IB, Police departments, Analysts, security officers in multinational companies etc.
- M4 : To popularize the program by enabling the students to appear for various union and state government services.
- M5 : To Work towards Academic and Industrial Collaborations in terms of Research and Placements for the students.

- PO-1 : Fundamental Knowledge and Application of Concepts: Capable of demonstrating comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the key concepts related to the subject and its applications in Establishing common links to the subject of Defence and Strategic Studies, International Relations and Military Science.

- PSO - 1 : Graduates will acquire basic competency in strategic affairs covering a wide spectrum of border security to global security issues including Internal security dimensions.
