About the Department
The Department of Criminology and Forensic Science, established in 2005, is committed to delivering excellence in technical education and fostering innovation in the field of cyber security. The department is led by a team of highly qualified and dedicated faculty members who strive to provide students with a strong foundation in technical knowledge across all academic programs.
Supported by efficient technical and administrative staff, the department focuses on nurturing the inherent talents of students while guiding them toward academic and professional excellence. We are dedicated to creating a stimulating learning environment that promotes critical thinking, ethical values, research orientation, and industry readiness.
In addition to the prescribed curriculum, the department emphasizes holistic development by offering diverse learning opportunities such as industrial visits to core industries, technical workshops, seminars, certification programs, and hands-on training sessions to enhance practical exposure.
The department actively encourages student participation in national and international competitive platforms. Our students have consistently showcased outstanding performance in prestigious competitions, including the Smart India Hackathon and various technical events, reflecting their innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving capabilities.

“The mission of the Department of Criminology and Forensic Science is to:
- M1: Provide high-quality education and training in criminology and forensic science, equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking abilities necessary for successful careers in research, law enforcement, and related fields.
- M2: Conduct innovative and rigorous research in criminology and forensic science, addressing pressing social and scientific problems and advancing the state of knowledge in these fields.
- M3: Foster collaboration and knowledge exchange with law enforcement agencies, government organizations, and other stakeholders, promoting the application of research findings to real-world problems and policy development.
