Mr. Gokul S, a student of the Biomedical Engineering (BME) department from Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, Chennai, has secured Second Place in the “Buzz2Code” event at Techvistra’25 – Tesseract, a national level technical symposium organized by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The event was held on 27th October 2025, where participants from various institutions competed and demonstrated their technical and coding skills. Mr. Gokul S’s outstanding performance and problem-solving ability earned him this recognition. The institution congratulates him on this achievement and wishes him continued success in his academic and professional endeavors.

Renita Saffron R., a Second Year student of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, actively participated in the People’s Water Data Project – IIT Madras Collaboration Meeting held at Indian Institute of Technology Madras on 27 September 2024. The certificate was awarded by A.C.S. Arun Kumar, President of Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, in recognition of her contribution to community-based water quality research aligned with SDG 6.

Renita Saffron R. and Boomika.P, a Second Year student of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, presented her research paper titled “Bridging the Biomedical Divide: Empowering Future Engineers through Industry-Oriented Skill Integration in Higher Education” at the National Conference on Quality Assurance Learning – CONQAL’25 in July 2025. Her presentation highlighted innovative approaches to strengthening industry-oriented skills and enhancing quality in engineering education.
Renita Saffron R., a Second Year student of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, successfully completed the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program conducted by Rotary International and received the Leadership Excellence Award. She was selected to fly to Singapore in November 2025 as part of the leadership exposure program. The award was presented by Dr. V. Shanmugam in recognition of her leadership, teamwork, and community engagement.

I created an armor model using waste materials like old newspapers, used files, and cardboard. This project was made for the Art Out of Waste competition. It shows how creative ideas can turn waste into something useful and beautiful. I won first place, proving that recycling and creativity can go together.

I contributed to the patent publication titled “A Weight Measurement System”, published in The Patent Office Journal on 15 November 2024. The invention presents a portable weight measurement system integrated with sensors, a display unit, and wireless connectivity, enabling accurate weight measurement and real-time monitoring through a user-friendly interface. This work highlights innovation in embedded systems and biomedical instrumentation.

Ms. B. Rengammal Sankari from Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute, Chennai actively participated in the Two-Week Online International Faculty Development Program on “AI-Assisted Robotics and Intelligent Automation for Sustainable Technology and Innovation.”
The program was organized by the Easwari Engineering College, Department of Robotics and Automation, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, and was conducted from 30 January 2026 to 10 February 2026.
This faculty development program focused on emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence in robotics, intelligent automation systems, and sustainable technological innovations.
