About MGR MATH OLYMPIAD 1.0
We are happy to share the report of MGR MATH OLYMPIAD 1.0, organized by the Department of Mathematics, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute.
The objective of the event is to create enthusiasm in the Applications of Mathematics and also guide them to face competitive / Aptitude examinations in their career.
The MGR MATH OLYMPIAD 1.0 was conducted in two rounds. The preliminary round was conducted on 26th March 2024 at 2 pm through online. Around 350 students from various branches of the faculty of E&T were participated. Out of them, the TOP 25 students were selected for the final round. The final round was held on 28th March 2024 at 2 pm through offline mode in Planet M lab. At the end of the final round TOP 3 students were selected as winners.
The valedictory ceremony of the Event commenced on 12th April 2024 @2.30 pm in Planet M Lab. The session started with the welcome address given by Dr.T.Johnson , Head, Department of Mathematics. The event report was presented by Dr.P.Sona , Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics. The Chief Guest of the Event, Dr.T.Ethiraj , Dean E&T , delivered the special address. In his talk, He explained the importance of Mathematics particularly in the branches of E&T and also further explained how it will be helpful to the students in their careers. The winners of the Events were awarded with cash prizes and certificates and the final round participants were awarded with certificates.
The session came to an end with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr.A.Mahalakshmi , Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics. The Department of Mathematics takes this moment to thank our Honourable President Sir for his constant support and encouragement. Special thanks to Dr.N.Kanya, Additional Dean (E&T) for providing support to conduct the event successfully. Thanks to Mr. Rooban & Mrs. Priyadharshini, Research Scholars, Dept. of Mathematics for their co-ordination. Thanks to the event coordinators Dr.P.Sona , Associate Professor, and Dr.A.Mahalakshmi, Associate Professor and the Department Event manager Mrs.Y.Sabitha banu , Assistant Professor and all the faculty members of the Department. Finally, we thank all the participants to make this Event a memorable one and we expect the same in the future endeavors.

About MGR MATH OLYMPIAD 2.0
We are happy to share the report of MGR MATH OLYMPIAD 2.0, organized by the Department of Mathematics, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute.
The objective of the event is to highlight the significance of learning Mathematics across various dimensions. It definitely motivates the students to explore their strength and potential and also will develop their confidence level to participate in various competitive examinations.
The MGR MATH OLYMPIAD 2.0 was conducted in two rounds. The preliminary round was conducted on 28th March 2025 through online. Around 200 students were participated from all the disciplines of various Institutions across the Nation. Out of them, the TOP 75 Students were selected for the final round. The final round was held on 8th April 2025 at 10 am in the University Auditorium, Phase 1 campus. At the end of the final round TOP 3 students were selected as winners.
The Prize distribution ceremony commenced at 11.30 am with Tamil Thai vazhthu. The session started with the welcome address given by Dr.T.Johnson , Head, Department of Mathematics. The genesis report was presented by Mrs. Y. Sabitha banu , Department Event Manager. The Chief Guest of the Event, Dr.N.Jayanth Karthik, Department of Mathematics, D.G.Vaishnav College gave the Special Address. In his talk, he appreciated the students for their active participation in Math Olympiad 2.0 and he also explained the importance of such events which will help to enhance their Aptitude and Mathematical skills to prepare for various competitive examinations.
Dr.J.Sridevi, Dean (H& S) congratulated the Department of Mathematics for conducting Math Olympiad 2.0 in a successful manner and also motivated the students to attend these type of events in future also. The winners and the final round participants were awarded with cash prizes and certificates. Vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs.S.Bhuvaneswari, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics. The session came to an end with the National Anthem.
The Department of Mathematics takes this moment to thank our Hon. President Sir for his constant support and encouragement and all the Executives for the smooth conduct of the event. We thank our department Research Scholars Mr.Rooban Sanjay & Ms. Priyadharshini, for their co-ordination. Thanks to the Event coordinators, Mrs.S.Sarala ,Mrs S.Bhuvaneswari and Event manager Mrs.Y.Sabitha banu. Finally, we thank all the Faculty members of the Department and the participants to make this event a memorable one.
