Day-wise Itinerary: MAHSA University and Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute Mobility Program
This day-by-day breakdown provides a detailed overview of the scheduled activities for the mobility program, highlighting the academic, practical, and social components of the exchange.
Day 1: Sunday, August 17, 2025 – Arrival
The program begins with the arrival of the delegation from Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute at MAHSA University in Malaysia. This day is dedicated to travel and settling in, with coordination handled by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahim Sadiq Batcha.
Day 2: Monday, August 18, 2025 – Welcome and Orientation
The official program kicks off at 10:00 AM with an Opening Ceremony led by the Dean of FOEBEIT, Prof. IR. Dr. Norazman bin Mohamad Nor. The ceremony provides an official welcome and a briefing about the faculty. This is followed by a comprehensive Campus Tour covering the laboratories, library, and the i-More innovation hub. The afternoon is dedicated to a hands-on Robot Operating System Workshop in the Empathy Building.
Day 3: Tuesday, August 19, 2025 – Innovation and Social Integration
The morning is set aside for social and networking activities with an Ice-breaking session with the FOEBEIT Student Club. This provides an excellent opportunity for students to connect and build cross-cultural friendships. The afternoon session focuses on a core modern technology: an Introduction to 3D Printing & Interdisciplinary Applications. This workshop includes a practical, hands-on training session on CAD design, slicing, and material selection using industry-standard software.
Day 4: Wednesday, August 20, 2025 – Engineering and Sustainability
Today’s activities are centered on practical engineering and renewable energy. The morning workshop, “Bridge the Budget: Mini Structure Design,” challenges participants to apply civil and mechanical engineering principles. In the afternoon, the focus shifts to a fun and educational Solar Car Project-Play and Learn Solar, where students will get a hands-on experience with solar-powered technology.
Day 5: Thursday, August 21, 2025 – Project Application and Creative AI
Building on the previous days’ knowledge, the morning is dedicated to a 3D Printing Project in the dedicated 3D Printing Laboratory. Students will apply their skills to create a final project. The afternoon session, “Draw with Your Words: A Creative AI Experience,” explores the intersection of art and artificial intelligence, showcasing the power of AI in creative fields.
Day 6: Friday, August 22, 2025 – Conclusion and Closing
The final day of the program features a talk on “Let’s Talk: Applications of A.I. in Smart Cities and Sustainable Development,” providing a forward-looking perspective on technology’s role in society. The program culminates at noon with a Closing Ceremony, where students and faculty will reflect on the successful exchange and celebrate their accomplishments.
Day 7 & 8: Saturday & Sunday, August 23-24, 2025 – Free Time and Departure
Saturday is a designated “Free and Easy” day, allowing students to explore the local surroundings or engage in personal activities. The delegation will then depart for KLIA Airport on Sunday, officially concluding the mobility program.
Mobility Program October 3 to 7
Day 1
Our journey commenced at 12:15 AM from Chennai International Airport, as we departed for Malaysia and safely arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport around 7:00 AM on October 3rd. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Professor Stephen, Senior Manager of the Global International Office, UCSI University, who accompanied us throughout our visit. A group of 21 students and 2 staff members boarded the UCSI bus and reached UCSI Le Quadri Hotel by 10:00 AM. After checking in and freshening up, we enjoyed a delightful vegetarian lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon, we proceeded to UCSI University for a campus tour. Our visit began at the Computer Lab, where we watched an introductory video about the university. This was followed by an insightful lecture on AI-Driven Cybersecurity Rules delivered by Dr. Kaviya Elakiya, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Applications.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Honourable Chairman Sir, President Sir, and the Executive Team of Dr. M.G.R. University for providing this wonderful learning opportunity to our students.
Day 2
The second day of our journey began at 9:00 AM, as all 21 students and 2 faculty members from Dr. M.G.R. University boarded the UCSI bus, accompanied by our friendly tourist guide, Ms. Wong Suit Ching. Our first destination was the famous Batu Caves in Malaysia. With great enthusiasm, the group climbed to the top, offered prayers to Lord Murugan, and then descended joyfully. Afterwards, we headed to the Central Market, where we enjoyed lunch and spent time shopping for traditional handicrafts and souvenirs. In the evening, we visited the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. Everyone admired the stunning beauty of the towers and captured memorable photographs. We returned to UCSI Le Quadri Hotel by 7:00 PM and concluded the day with a delicious dinner at the local street stalls. The day ended on a high note, filled with fun, joy, and unforgettable memories.
Day 3:
Day 3 began at 9:30 AM with visits to several key attractions in Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur, including the Putrajaya Bridge, Putra Mosque, AEON Mall, and Chinatown. The first stop, Putrajaya Bridge, showcased Malaysia’s modern architectural design and offered beautiful views of the lake and nearby government buildings. The peaceful surroundings provided a pleasant start to the day. Next, the group visited the Putra Mosque, renowned for its pink dome and elegant Islamic architecture. The mosque’s calm and spiritual atmosphere offered insight into Malaysia’s rich cultural and religious heritage.
Around midday, the group proceeded to AEON Mall for lunch and leisure shopping. The mall’s modern facilities provided a comfortable and refreshing break from sightseeing. In the afternoon, the group explored Chinatown (Petaling Street), known for its lively markets, traditional food, and vibrant atmosphere. It was an excellent place to experience local culture and shop for souvenirs. The day concluded at 7:00 PM with the return to the hotel. Overall, Day 3 offered a well-balanced mix of cultural exploration, relaxation, and local experiences.
Day 4:
On 6th October, the day began with breakfast from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM, allowing participants to network and prepare for the sessions ahead. Participants were then instructed to proceed to the Cybersecurity Lab at Block B, Level 4, for the scheduled workshops. The first session, held from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, was titled “AI – Strategy for Business” and conducted by Dr. Kaviya. This session focused on how Artificial Intelligence can be strategically integrated into business operations to enhance efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness. The second session took place from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM, featuring a discussion on “AI Research Case Study”, led by Professor Dr. Kurunathan. This session provided valuable insights into current AI research developments and real-world applications through detailed case study analysis. Following a lunch break from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, the afternoon continued with Workshop 4 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM — an AI industry visit to CelcomDigi. This visit offered participants firsthand exposure to practical AI implementations in the telecommunications industry. Overall, the day was insightful and engaging, offering participants a well-rounded blend of academic knowledge, research understanding, and industry experience.
Day 5:
The program began with breakfast from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM, allowing participants to prepare for the concluding sessions.
Workshop 5 was held from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM on the topic “Software Development Life Cycle,” conducted by Mr. Mohzanuddin Bin Zaharin, Senior Manager of the CSE Department at UCSI CompuTech. The session was highly interactive and engaging, as Mr. Mohzanuddin explained the various stages of software development and encouraged student participation through an activity in which they shared what they found best about Chennai and represented it through drawings. This creative task fostered teamwork, collaboration, and innovation among the students. He also offered valuable advice on professional growth, teamwork, and communication. Following his session, Prof. Stephen, Senior Manager of the Global Engagement Office, delivered an inspiring motivational talk. He guided the students on how to improve their education, personality, and overall development, encouraging them to pursue excellence with determination and humility. He concluded his session with a meaningful quote from Mahatma Gandhi, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and self-improvement.
The Certification Ceremony took place from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM, during which certificates were presented by Dr. Renu, Director of the Computer Applications Department, along with Dr. Kaviya, Assistant Professor of CSE, and Dr. Ghazal Smar, Head of Industrial Collaboration for CSE. During the ceremony, students shared valuable feedback about their learning experiences, industry visits, and the excellent support received throughout the program and outings.
From 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM, participants completed the hotel checkout process, followed by a lunch break from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM. The day concluded with the group’s departure to KLIA Terminal 2 at 4:30 PM.
Overall, Day 5 marked a memorable conclusion to the program, blending academic learning, motivational guidance, and heartfelt appreciation, leaving students with lasting experiences and inspiration for their future endeavors.
