We the Department of Viscom and Animation, Dr MGR ERI. on the occasion of International Mind Body Wellness Day, takes up the pride and elated to Conduct "ICON Premiere League", a tournament initiated for a cause on 6/01/2024 at GOAT, Arena, Valasaravakkam , Chennai.

We the department of Viscom and Animation celebrated seven days event on "Icon- An international summit on Animation , Film and VFX "

Film Screening Competition

This film screening competition was judged by the popular actor Mr.PandiyaRajan and around 10 films were screened. He appreciated the students on seeing them as a good director.

Art Competition and Exhibition

Department of Visual Communication and Animation conducted an Art Competition and Exhibition for all the students of the Dr. MGR University on 9th March 2022. The art competition was themed in "PengalinVetripaathai,” and the competition was inaugurated and judged by the Chief guest Ms.Kiruba and the Women Artist / Professor Ms.Niraimathi.

International Russian Film Festival

The International Russian Film Festival is an international festival of works of documentary and cinema in Russian, showing and interpreting events, phenomena, traditions of the Russian world, features of the Russian soul and Russian character. Indian Film maker Mr.Venkatesan and Indian Cinematographer M.Prabhu delivered a thought provoking and remarkable session with our students.

Dr.J.Sridevi, Dean – Centre for professional excellence, Dr. M.G.R. Educational & Research Institute presented a wonderful session of making the utmost use of our time in our rapidly advancing world.

Guest Lecture on VFX

Our Department of Visual Communication and Animation, Organized a Guest Lecture programme on Visual Effects on Movies on 10/10/23 in Anna Block, Mini Seminar Hall. Mr. Vincent Ashok Kumar is a VFX Compositor in UNIFI Media and also Creative Head of Arena Animation. He gave an excellent lecture on VFX.

One day field trip to Mahabalipuram

We the department of Viscom & Animation organized a seminar on the topic " Cinematic Chronicles" by director Mr. SP Muthuraman who directed 72 Films and he was one of the most successful commercial Film Directors in the Tamil Cinema. This seminar was conducted on 12/04/2024.

We the department of Viscom & Animation organized a seminar on the topic " Cinematic Chronicles" by director Mr. SP Muthuraman who directed 72 Films and he was one of the most successful commercial Film Directors in the Tamil Cinema. This seminar was conducted on 12/04/2024.

We the department of Viscom & Animation organized a session on the "STORYBOARDING" to stimulate the students to get motivated and inspired to be a good Storyboarding creator.

The department of Visual Communication and Animation organized a Seminar on "Photography” to discover what we really want to say while clicking the camera. Pertaining to this Guest speaker Mr.L.Ramachandran, International photographer was invited on 28/04/2023.

Seminar on TELEVISION PRODUCTION

Department of Viscom & Animation organized a seminar on the "Television Production” to make the students practically aware of behind the small screen. For this, we invited Mr.Surendar V.R, Senior Executive Producer/Director, VIJAY TELEVISION on 17th February 2023 at 11am in our RA block.

Department of Viscom & Animation organized One-day Seminar on "DOCUMENTARY FILM MAKING" on 15.2.2023 at RA Block Conference Hall. The session was handled by Dr. Terada Yoshitaka, Professor Emeritus at the National Museum of Ethnology, Minpaku, Japan.

Department of Visual Communication and Animation organized a Seminar on the "Drawing and Featuring” to discover what we really want to say while drawing. Pertaining to this we invited Guest speaker Mr.Saravana Raghavan, Asst Professor & Head , Dept of Visual Communication, St.Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and Research on 16/11/2022.

The department of Visual communication & Animation organized a seminar on the Scriptwriting for the passionate students to improve their skills on it. Our Guest speaker Mr.R.D.Balaji , Actor, Director F-stop solutions was invited to deliver his unscrupulous knowledge towards the scriptwriting.

World Cancer Day

On the World Cancer Day (2/2/2024), We the Department of Viscom & Animation at Dr. MGR Educational & Research Institute, Chennai, teamed up with the UUU Foundation and Hair donation drive organized a Cancer Awareness programme.
