Technology Talk on Data Science Trends in Startups and Research Incubators
The Department of Data Science at Dr. M.G.R Educational and Research Institute organized a Technology Talk on Data Science Trends in Startups and Research Incubators on 20 November 2025 at RA Auditorium, in collaboration with AUDI. The event aimed to expose students to evolving data science applications in entrepreneurial and research ecosystems, bridging academic learning with industry practices. Dr. J. Arun Kumar, Dean of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Centre of Excellence in Innovation Entrepreneurship, delivered insights on AI, machine learning, automation trends, incubator opportunities, essential skills for data scientists, and startup success models. Key activities included an interactive lecture and Q&A session addressing startup challenges, funding, and research collaborations. Over 120 students participated, gaining practical knowledge to align skills with innovation pathways. The session concluded with felicitation of the speaker by Dr. T. Kirubadevi, Head of the Department of Data Science, enhancing students’ perspectives on interdisciplinary problem-solving.
