TechMed’26 – Academic Research Conclave

The DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING , under the Center of Excellence in Computational Intelligence & Medical Technology (CIMT) , in collaboration with the Faculty of Medical Sciences , successfully organized the Academic Research Conclave – TechMed’26 on 08 MAY 2026 at the University Auditorium , Ramanujam Block, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, Chennai.

The conclave was conducted with the theme “ Integration of Technology and Medical Science through AI ”, aiming to promote interdisciplinary research and innovation in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Computational Intelligence, and Medical Technology.
The programme was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest Dr. Ramalingam Bethunaickan, Scientist–F, ICMR–NIRT , Chennai, who addressed the gathering with valuable insights on the role of AI and emerging technologies in healthcare research and medical advancements.

The event also featured an enlightening Plenary Talk delivered by Dr. S. Nirmala Devi, Professor, BME, Anna University , Chennai. Her session highlighted the importance of integrating intelligent systems with healthcare applications to enhance diagnosis, treatment, and patient care.

The conclave included an expert panel discussion with distinguished academicians and medical professionals including Dr. Balamurugan , Professor, Pulmonary, ACSMCH, Chennai; Dr. Kirubakaran, Senior Assistant Professor , Government Medical College, Omandurar, Chennai; Dr. Sudhakar, Scientist–C , ICMR–NIRT, Chennai; Dr. Sivabalan, Professor & HOD , Psychiatry, SLMCH, Chennai; and Dr. G. Rajesh, Associate Professor , Information Technology, MIT Campus, Anna University.

The experts shared their knowledge on the latest advancements in Artificial Intelligence, computational healthcare systems, medical diagnostics, intelligent automation, and research opportunities in interdisciplinary domains.

The sessions provided participants with valuable exposure to current trends and future research directions in AI-driven medical technologies.
Faculty members, research scholars, and students actively participated in the conclave and engaged in meaningful discussions with the speakers. The event served as an excellent platform for academic interaction, knowledge sharing, and collaborative research opportunities between technology and medical science domains.
