TECHASTRA’26 -18th National Level Technical Symposium

TECHASTRA ’26 – VISION is the 18th National Level Technical Symposium organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the Department of Cyber Security, in association with the Association of Computing Engineers (ACE) and Association of Cyber Security (ACS) at Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute University. The two-day symposium is designed as a vibrant platform for students to showcase their technical expertise, creativity, problem-solving abilities, teamwork and innovative thinking. The official invitation describes TECHASTRA 2026 as a celebration of innovation, talent and collaboration, welcoming students from all disciplines.
Under the theme “VISION”, TECHASTRA ’26 brings together a diverse collection of technical and non-technical events, creating an engaging experience for participants with varied interests and skills. The technical arena features challenging competitions such as Pen Your Vision, Hack Nexus, Crypt Clash, Trial of Truth, Code Rescue, Pixel Protocol, Forensic Alibi, Prompt Arena. These events encourage participants to apply programming skills, cybersecurity knowledge, logical reasoning, problem-solving techniques, creativity and emerging technology concepts in competitive environments.
Adding colour, energy and entertainment to the symposium is an equally exciting lineup of non-technical events. Participants can test their observation, communication, imagination, strategy and team-building skills through events such as Huntify, Rhythm Riot, Team Feud, Clash Squad E-Sports, Hidden Frames, Verbal Combat, Blitz Hunt, Plot Twist and Cap Chaos. Together, these events provide opportunities for students to step beyond conventional academics and demonstrate their personality, spontaneity, creativity and competitive spirit.
Junior TECHASTRA ’26
As part of the TECHASTRA ’26 celebrations, Junior TECHASTRA ’26 provides a dedicated platform for younger students to experience the excitement of technology, creativity and healthy competition. Organized by the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering and Cyber Security, Junior TECHASTRA features a carefully designed blend of technical and non-technical events that encourage curiosity, logical thinking, teamwork and innovative ideas. The technical events include Byte Rush, Prompt Wars, Vision Forge, Cipher Quest and Trace, while the non-technical events include Mind Merge, Whatzit?, Actventure, Seekret, Huntify and Stack N’ Dash. Scheduled for 9th October 2026, the event aims to make learning engaging and enjoyable while giving young participants an opportunity to discover their talents, build confidence and celebrate the spirit of innovation.
Together, TECHASTRA ’26 and Junior TECHASTRA ’26 create a vibrant ecosystem of learning, innovation, creativity and competition, bringing together participants with diverse interests and abilities. With exciting technical challenges, engaging non-technical activities and opportunities to collaborate and showcase talent, the celebrations promise an enriching and memorable experience for every participant. TECHASTRA ’26 – VISION stands as a celebration where ideas meet action, technology meets creativity, and young minds come together to Think, Create, Compete and Innovate.
The event also recognizes excellence through an Overall Winners’ Shield, awarded to the institution achieving the highest overall score across the competitions. With an exciting blend of technology, creativity, entertainment and teamwork, TECHASTRA ’26 – VISION promises two dynamic days of learning, competition and celebration, bringing together the “Blossoming Brains” from institutions across disciplines.
