National level Technical Symposium"SPARKLE' 25"
On DISCO On 16th and 17th November 2025
SPARKLE 25 commenced with a grand inaugural ceremony on the 16th of September at 10:30 AM.. The first day featured a dynamic mix of technical and non-technical events exclusively for college students. These events tested a wide spectrum of skills from logical thinking and coding to creativity and entertainment. On the second day, on 17th September we have Mr. Daniel Jacob, Executive Vice president – HR, EC Group International, Chennai and happy to have our alumnus, Mr. Mukesh. G (2015-2019 batch), Director and Co-Founder, ELLO Grapes Technology Pvt Ltd. The second day was specially curated for school students, showcasing their talent through a variety of engaging and thought-provoking events.. Over 250 students participated in the senior events on Day 1. Nearly 250 students from various schools enthusiastically took part in the events on Day 2. The resounding success of SPARKLE 25 is a testament to the dedication, leadership, organizational skills, and teamwork displayed by both our students and faculty. SPARKLE 25 was a vibrant confluence of innovation, collaboration, and creativity. We extend our heartfelt thanks to every individual who contributed to making this event a grand success.
Inauguration of Center of Excellence in Cyber Physical Systems
on 17 November 2025
The Department of Information Technology inaugurated the Center of Excellence in Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) on 17 November 2025 at Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute. The Center was formally inaugurated by our Honourable President, Er. A.C.S. Arun Kumar.
The President, along with university executives, visited the student project displays showcasing innovations in CPS, IoT, automation, and smart systems. The Center aims to promote advanced research, hands-on learning, and industry-aligned training in emerging CPS technologies.
Professional Society Event titled “Cybersecurity Essentials in the Digital Era”
On 15th October 2025
The Department of Information Technology, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, organized a Professional Society Event titled “Cybersecurity Essentials in the Digital Era” on 15th October 2025 at 2:00 PM in the University Auditorium. The event was conducted in association with the Computer Society of India (CSI) and the Association of Information Technovanza (AITZa). The resource person was Mr. Rohith N, Cyber Security Analyst and Cyber Forensic.
