Voice for Democracy: Constitutional Values and Civic Responsibility

The Data Science Department, in association with the NCC Unit, organized the National Day observance “Voice for Democracy – Samvidhan Hatya Diwas” on 18 December 2025 at VOC 303, Main Campus. The event aimed to deepen understanding of democratic values, constitutional supremacy, and responsible citizenship among NCC cadets and data science students. Through structured presentations and demonstrations, cadets highlighted the discipline and bravery of the armed forces, the sacrifices made to protect national sovereignty, and the strategic coordination required in high-pressure environments. These themes were connected to analytical thinking, evidence-based decision-making, and systematic planning, which are central to data science practice and governance-related analytics. The program also emphasized ethical responsibility, integrity, and leadership as essential attributes for future technologists contributing to data-driven public policy and security. Under the guidance of Dr. Kevin Andrews, NCC Coordinator, and with the support of Dr. T. Kirubadevi, Head of the Data Science Department, the event provided a reflective platform that fostered patriotism, civic awareness, and critical thinking.
