Associations & Activities
PLANETM Math Association:
The Department of Mathematics started a Mathematics association namely, PlanetM on 8th February 2012 with the objective, To serve the Students, Faculties and Research scholars of our university and other institutions by way of helping them to understand / model / solve the Engineering / Life science problems through Mathematical modeling and techniques.
Through this, we initiate to do some of the following activities:
- To create awareness about the enormous applications of Mathematical techniques in the field of Engineering, Medicine etc., through seminars and workshops.
- Providing service to the Research scholars by way of sharing the Mathematical ideas in their field of research.
- Providing service / help to the Under-graduate and Post-graduate students in their Projects / Competitive exams(GATE etc.,) relating Mathematical aspects.
- Conducting weekly / monthly online quizzes.
- Managing Tie-ups with other associations of our university and other institutions to provide inter-disciplinary services.
- Providing awards and certificates to the people who are actively participating in the events of the math association.
PLANETM Web Portal:
The Department of Mathematics created a new web portal for the PLANETM Math Association on 19th July 2012. Here one can find a collection of Math articles, video lectures, links to useful Math websites, online Quizzes, links to free online Math Journals, Math softwares and so on.
In Particular for the benefit of the Students, we uploaded useful study materials, previous year question papers of GATE, CAT and other competitive examinations, placement question papers and so on.

PLANETM Online Math Journal:
The Department of Mathematics started an online open access Math Journal namely Dr.M.G.R PLANETM online Journal of Mathematical Sciences (ISSN: 2321-6735). The objective of this journal is to encourage the emerging mathematicians and sharing knowledge with one another. The Volume 1(Issue I & II), Volume 2 (Issue I & II), Volume 3 Issue I and a Special Issue of the Journal have released so far.
