Faculty Development Program On “Cyber Physical Systems”

The Department of Information Technology, Dr. M.G.R Educational and Research Institute, organized a Virtual Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Cyber Physical Systems” under the Center of Excellence in Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) From 26.05.2025 to 30.05.2025

Day 1: The session began with an welcome address and guest speaker for the day was Dr. V. Neelanarayanan, Professor, School of CSE, VIT-Chennai. Dr. Neelanarayanan delivered an insightful talk on the basics and significance of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS).

Day 2: The guest speaker delivered an engaging and technically rich presentation on the cyber aspects of drone technologies, explaining threats like GPS spoofing, control signal interference, and malware-based attacks.

Day 3: The guest speaker presented on Modeling and simulation techniques critical to the development of Cyber Physical Systems. Her session covered integration of sensors, actuators, and feedback mechanisms within CPS architectures. She discussed practical implementation aspects and demonstrated how simulation tools and control systems are used in real-world CPS projects.

Day 4: The guest speaker shared an in-depth presentation on the challenges and mitigation strategies in securing CPS infrastructure, emphasizing the unique vulnerabilities of integrated cyber and physical domains. He discussed on the evolution of security practices in the CPS domain.

Day 5: The guest speaker delivered a visionary perspective on ongoing research trends in the realm of Cyber Physical Systems. He emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary approaches, innovation ecosystems, and institutional collaborations in advancing CPS technologies.
