The Department of English is organizing a Two-Day National Conference on 10th&11th December. The conference aims to encourage discussion on the humanities and technology together solve environmental problems, support global justice, and help to create a sustainable and inclusive future.
The thrust areas of this conference address how ecological concerns are represented, interpreted, stored, and transmitted through linguistic forms, narrative structures, digital technologies, and pedagogical frameworks. Discussions will engage with Eco-linguistics, Environmental Justice, and linguistic memory to foreground the disappearing languages that are vanishing ecologies.
Equally, the conference highlights how AI, digital tools, and technology-driven pedagogies can document indigenous knowledge, support sustainable language practices, and reimagine future literacies in the age of climate change. This conference aims to critically investigate humanistic thinking and technological innovation to address the challenges of the Anthropocene and develop sustainability.
