Guest Lecture on INTERDISCIPLINARY LECTURE

With great enthusiasm, the Faculty of Education (B.Ed.), Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, organized an Interdisciplinary Lecture on the topic “Empower Her, Empower Society” on 7th April 2026 at 11.00 a.m. The programme was held at K102, Smart Room, Phase II Campus, Adayalampattu. The session was delivered by Ms. S. Karthiga, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Law, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute. The resource person shared valuable insights on the importance of women empowerment in building a progressive and equitable society. She emphasized the role of education, legal awareness and social responsibility in uplifting women and ensuring gender equality. The lecture highlighted key aspects such as the significance of empowering women in all spheres of life, legal rights and protections available for women, the role of educators in fostering gender sensitivity among students and the collective responsibility of society in promoting equality and respect.

Guest Lecture on Technology Talk

The Faculty of Education (B.Ed.), Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, organized a Technology Talk on the topic “From Chalk Board to Dashboard (E-Content in Education)” on 11th April 2026 from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. at Smart Room, Phase II Campus, Adayalampattu, Maduravoyal, Chennai. The session was delivered by Mr. Bergin G, Content Creator in SCERT and PGT in Physics at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School, Ramanathapuram. The resource person provided valuable insights into the transformation of traditional teaching methods into digital and technology-enabled practices.

Guest Lecture on Understanding Emotions, Behaviour and Relationships

An online guest lecture was held on 11th March 2026 by the Faculty of Education (B.Ed.), Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, in collaboration with St. John the Baptist University, Malawi. Dr. E. Mugundharajan delivered a session on “Understanding Emotions, Behaviour and Relationships,” highlighting emotional awareness, positive behaviour, and healthy relationships. The lecture was interactive and helped student-teachers develop empathy, communication skills, and emotional intelligence for their professional growth.

Abdul Kalam, COE in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, kindled the spirit of job-creator through the presentation on the start-up ideas, funded projects and patent.

Interdisciplinary Lecture on ‘Diabetes Risk Reduction Awareness Programme’

Interdisciplinary lecture was held on 7.1.2020 at 10.00am in the smart classroom. Dr. Prof. Hema V.H. Principal, Faculty of Nursing, Dr.MGR Educational and Research Institute delivered a lecture on 'Diabetes Risk Reduction Awareness Programme'. The session was useful and informative throwing limelight on the types of Diabetes, Pre-diabetes and diabetes, Healthy food habits, Regular exercises with short term and long term goals, Evaluation of body mass index - BMI on nutritional status, Evaluation scale on Indian Diabetes Risk Score(IDRS). The session on the whole was a useful preventive measure to lead a healthy life.

Technology talk on ‘Basic Statistics’

A technology talk was held on 8.1.2020 at 11.00am in the smart classroom. Dr. Mohana, Assistant Professor, School of Advanced Sciences, Division of Mathematics, VIT, Chennai delivered a lecture on 'Basic Statistics'. The session was useful and informative throwing limelight on the following basic statistical aspects like Measures of central tendency and Measures of dispersion. The session on the whole was a useful one from the research aspects like qualitative and quantitative data collection and evaluation.

e-Tutoring

B.Ed I year students attended e-tutoring on ' The Effective Use of Smart Board ' on 14th October, 2019 in the smart class room Phase II campus. The resource person Mrs. V. Thenu Priya, PG Assistant, Department of Computer Science, JRK Global Senior Secondary School, Kattankullathur, Chennai, elaborated the use of smart board and how a teacher can be smarter while handling the students in the usage of smart board. It was an interesting and informative session.
