The Data Science Department, in association with the Association of Universal Data & Intelligence, organized an AICTE-approved three-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Universal Human Values – Introductory from January 28 to 30, 2026, at the RA Auditorium, Main Campus, Maduravoyal. The programme aimed to foster ethical awareness, right understanding, and harmony among faculty members to enhance professional conduct and teaching practices.
Day 1 commenced with the inaugural session led by Dr. Umesh Jadhav, followed by inspiring addresses from university leadership, including the President and the Vice Chancellor. The sessions highlighted the importance of value-based education in higher institutions.
Day 2 focused on understanding basic human aspirations, the distinction between continuous happiness and temporary physical facilities, and the concept of harmony at the levels of self, family, and society. The sessions were interactive and encouraged self-exploration, reflection, and meaningful discussions.
Day 3 concluded with valedictory insights emphasizing the integration of universal human values into curriculum design, research practices, and professional responsibilities. Resource persons stressed the importance of trust, respect, right evaluation, and co-existence as foundational principles for sustainable development.
The programme provided clarity on the distinction between value education and skill development, enabling faculty members to incorporate human values effectively into data science education. This AICTE initiative aligns with NAAC and NBA standards, promoting holistic faculty development.
