BOOK REVIEW COMPETITION

We are delighted to present a report on the Book Review Competition organized by the Faculty of Education, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, held on 20th April 2026. The session commenced with a warm welcome address, followed by an inspiring speech by the Principal, who emphasized the significance of reading and the unique benefits it offers. She highlighted how good books contribute to personal growth and broaden perspectives. Students from various departments of the Phase II campus actively participated in the event. They showcased thorough preparation while presenting reviews on a diverse selection of thought-provoking books, including The Psychology of Money, The Silent Patient, White Nights, Who Moved My Cheese, and Annihilation of Caste. Through their insightful presentations, participants not only inspired their peers to cultivate reading habits but also emphasized the numerous advantages of reading.

FAREWELL PROGRAMME ‘2026

The Farewell Programme for the II Year B.Ed. students was organized on 21 April 2026 at 11.00 a.m. in the classroom. The programme was conducted with great enthusiasm and provided an opportunity for the students to cherish their memories and celebrate their journey together. The programme commenced with the Welcome Address delivered by Ms. Keerthika, who warmly greeted the Principal, faculty members, and students. She highlighted the significance of the occasion and expressed gratitude to everyone for their presence. This was followed by the Principal's Address by Dr. K. Geetha, Principal, Faculty of Education. In her inspiring speech, she conveyed her best wishes to the outgoing students and encouraged them to uphold the values of dedication, compassion, and professionalism in their future teaching careers.

Women’s Day 2026

The Faculty of Education at Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute organized a vibrant celebration of International Women’s Day on 7th March, 2026. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from B.Ed. first-year and second-year students, making the occasion lively and memorable. The programme commenced with a warm welcome speech, setting a positive tone for the celebration. This was followed by an inspiring address delivered by the Principal, Dr.K. Geetha, who spoke about the importance of empowering women and recognizing their contributions to society. She encouraged students to develop confidence, leadership, and social responsibility. To make the celebration more engaging, two games competitions were organized for the students. Participants actively took part in the games with great enthusiasm and team spirit.

International Day of the Girl Child

Faculty of Education joyfully observed the International Day of the Girl Child on 11th October 2025. The event aimed to create awareness about the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among girl children and to inspire them to dream, learn, and lead with confidence. In alignment with the university’s commitment to education, empowerment, and equality, student-teachers visited nearby Government Schools to conduct interactive awareness sessions......

Virtual Teacher's Day Celebration - 2020

The virtual Teacher's day celebration was well drafted on 09.05.2020(Saturday) at 10.00 AM with 197 participation. The celebration started with the invocation Thamizh Thai vazhthu followed by Welcome address. Next an interesting game Connections was organised for the participants to actively participate. It was absolutely fun filled followed by the game we had a speech about Teachers day celebration. With the same enthusiasm participants very well responded back again followed by the poetry recitation by our student and the lucky draw winners were announced by randomly choosing three of our participants and acknowledged them with a certificate. Also, all our participants were acknowledged with the Teachers day celebration gratitude card.
