A Five days Faculty development programme (FDP-2021) on Essential of Outcome Based Education was successfully conducted in the Dr.M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, Tamil nadu, Chennai on 15th – 19thMarch 2021 by Department of Information Technology. The FDP programme received totally 220 participants are joined from throughout India with 13 states and other countries Philippines, Nigeria, Afganisthan.
DAY1: The next session , the resource person Dr.S. Neelavathy Pari handled the session who emphasized the need for OBE. She has explained deficiencies of traditional system and how to overcome this.
And further shared that it helps to improve the performance of faculty in teaching and highlighted the importance and objectives of organizing faculty development programmes. She briefed the participants about the subjects chosen for the FDP and highlighted the reasons and importance of the same.
She explains about importance of OBE is a powerful education strategy that should be used as a focus for curriculum planning, as a means of making informed discussions about the approaches to teaching and learning be adopted, and as a basis for the assessment of students/trainees and of the education programme
Finally he has given more examples for co-po relationships, and how Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) is working. He patiently answered all the queries raised by participants .

The event was moderated by Dr. Dalila Sam, Associate Professor, Department of Information Technology. Mr. Kameswaran Assistant Professor, Dept. of Information Technology gave the formal vote of thanks and the session came to a successful end.
