The Department of Fashion Design, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, organized an International Seminar on “Portfolio Management” on 28.01.2025 at the Phase II Campus. The session was conducted by Ms. Mekeba Lewis, International Academic at Chelsea, Wimbledon College of Arts, University of the Arts, London. Students from the first year, second year & third year of B.Sc. Fashion Design attended the seminar. The seminar focused on the comprehensive portfolio management process for fashion students, with emphasis on the following: Creative presentation, branding, and research integration. Structuring visually engaging boards to highlight unique styles, technical skills, and conceptual themes
Students gained a clear understanding of the portfolio creation process, from concept development to final presentation. They learned the importance of effective visual communication, enabling them to present their work with creativity and professionalism. The session enhanced their ability to brand and position their portfolios for academic evaluations, internships, and industry opportunities. By understanding how to balance aesthetic appeal with technical accuracy, students are now better prepared to confidently showcase their skills in both academic and professional settings.
