Alumni Interaction on Empowering Business Ventures through Fashion Design
Overview
The Department of Fashion Design, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, organized an Alumni Interaction Series titled “Empowering Business Ventures through Fashion Design” on 30/12/2025 at 11:30 AM in the Smart Room. The session was led by Ms. Sandhiyasini, fashion designer and proprietor of D’ Boutique, Chennai, a distinguished alumna of the department. The primary objective of the interaction was to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world fashion entrepreneurship by drawing insights from alumni’s professional experiences.
Outcome
The alumni interaction significantly enhanced students’ understanding of fashion entrepreneurship and boutique management. Students gained practical exposure to real-time business challenges such as market competition, cost control, and evolving consumer preferences. The session motivated students to think creatively and innovatively while applying academic knowledge to professional practice. It strengthened students’ confidence, entrepreneurial mindset, and awareness of career opportunities in fashion design and business ventures. Overall, the interaction was highly insightful and inspiring, encouraging students to pursue sustainable and successful careers in the fashion industry.
