The Department of Data Science, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, in collaboration with the Dr. M.G.R. ACM Student Chapter, organized an online session on “How to Win a Hackathon” for III and II year students on 25/03/2026. The session was delivered by Dr. Prashant R. Nair, Associate Director – IQAC and Associate Professor in Computer Science and Engineering at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore. In his address, he discussed the key elements required to succeed in hackathons, including idea generation, problem understanding, team collaboration, and development of innovative yet feasible solutions. The session also emphasized effective presentation techniques, problem-solving methods, and time management strategies. The program began with a welcome address by Dr. T. Kirubadevi, Head of the Department, who highlighted the importance of innovation and active participation in hackathon-based learning. The session provided participants with practical insights and motivated them to strengthen their technical and teamwork skills for competitive innovation events.
