II Year B.Ed. University Practical Examination – 2026

The Faculty of Education successfully conducted Day 1 of the University Practical Examination for the second-year B.Ed. students on 16.04.2026. We were privileged to have Dr. Ponmalini, Associate Professor of Computer Science, Loyola College of Education, Chennai, as the External Examiner. She was assisted by a panel of faculty members who actively participated in the evaluation process. During the examination, students presented a variety of teaching aids, including charts, flashcards, and working and non-working models. The External Examiner assessed the students based on the quality and creativity of their teaching aids, the maintenance of their records, and their performance in the viva voce. The students responded to the questions with clarity and confidence, reflecting their sound subject knowledge and pedagogical competence.

I Year B.Ed. University Practical Examination – 2026

The Faculty of Education conducted the University Practical Examination for the First Year B.Ed. students on 20.05.2026 at 10.00 a.m. Dr. R. Sahaya Mary, Associate Professor, Dept. of Physical Science, Institute of Advanced Studies in Education, Saidapet served as the External Examiner and evaluated the students along with the faculty members. The assessment was carried out based on the submission of practical records and the students’ performance in the viva voce examination. The External Examiner assessed the students’ practical understanding, subject knowledge, presentation of records, and responses during the viva voce. The students answered the questions confidently and actively, reflecting their preparation and competency. The practical examination was conducted smoothly and successfully with the cooperation of the faculty members and students.

4-Day Certificate Training Programme On ‘Art And Craft’

The Faculty of Education at Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute conducted a 4-day Certificate Training on “Art and Craft” from 25th to 28th March 2026 for B.Ed. students. The workshop covered Canvas Painting, Lippon Art, Fabric Painting, and Mural Art, led by Ms. Geetha. Students gained hands-on experience in various artistic techniques and actively participated with enthusiasm. The programme was enriching and enhanced creativity, innovation, and practical skills among the students.

Workshop on SPSS

We are delighted to share the report of Day 1 online Workshop on 'SPSS' which was organized by the Faculty of Education, Dr.M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute on 01.11.23 at 2:00 p.m. around 100 participants from zoom meet and 60 participants via YouTube. The session was hosted by Dr.A.Shyamala Devi, Assistant Professor, University of Madras.

'Education is the passport to the future for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today' with this intension of educating today at this pandemic crisis a two day workshop on SPSS was organized on 14.05.2021 & 15.05.2021 from 10.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m. with a resource person of higher designation Dr.R.Ravanan, Joint Director of Collegiate Education, Chennai Region.

Professional Society Event – 'Citizenship Camp'

The first and second year B.Ed students attended ‘Citizenship Camp’ on 29th January, 2020. Mr.K.S.Suryanarayanan from Saint John Ambulance Service, explained on the principles and practices of First-Aid and also he gave a deep insight about different types of injuries and their managements. On 30.01.2020 the morning session was handled by Mr.M.Naresh Kumar from Evergreen Fire Service for Fire and Safety Measures, Chennai who explained about the fire extinguisher and demonstrated how to use it in case of emergency. Thus on the whole citizenship camp enabled to acquire knowledge about the life skills, as well as provided a service oriented mindset to those who need it most.
