Polio Pulse immunization programme

We are gratified to share the report of 'Polio Pulse immunization programme, which was administered by the Faculty of Education, B.Ed. I and II year students of Dr.M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute in association with Urban Health Centre around Chennai on 3rd March 2024. Nearly 68 B.Ed. students joined hands together along with NSS Rotary and Lions club volunteers.

ISR Event - Threads of Compassion

The Faculty of Education is happy to celebrate the birthday of our Founder Chancellor, Thiru Dr. A.C. Shanmugam, by giving us the opportunity to do a service for the needy by distributing clothes to them. The greatest use of a life is to spend it on something that will outlast it. 25.9.23 and 26.9.23 students of II year B. Ed contributed to the poor with compassion, which led to the successful completion of this generous act.

Professional Society Event - SEVALAYA

We are delighted to share the report of 'A Professional Society Event' (7 days), was organised by the Faculty of Education, Dr. M.G.R Educational and Research Institute in collaboration with Rotary Club, Mugappair from 24/7/2023 to 01/08/2023. Pulse Polio Immunization Drive

The mass vaccination drive initiative by the Government against Polio was held on Sunday (27.2.2022) for the children aged below 6 years old against pulse polio. The camp was organised in bus stands, railway stations, public gatherings and in the primary health care centre all over India. As a societal responsibility the students from1st year B.Ed. participated in the camp of intensive pulse polio immunization drive with enthusiasm at the places like Mogappair East and West, Athipet, Andaman Nicobar Islands, Kerala, Avadi, Ambattur, Thiruvanmiyur and in and around Chennai, close to their residence.

Planting 101 Saplings

'Planting 101 Saplings' in commemoration of Founder Chancellor's Birthday celebration was organized. 100 saplings of trees and medicinal plants were planted in the garden, park and highways and the last sapling 101st was contributed by our honourable President and was planted in the main campus. The ISR event on 24.9.2021 started at 10:00 a.m.

All the Children Children's Home Visit

Faculty of Education along with NSS team feels so blessed to share the unforgettable moments experienced on 19.03.2021 with the children of the home. Those children were from streets, Orphans and Semi Orphans.

Pulse Polio Camp 2021

Tamil Nadu 17th Oral pulse polio immunisation campaign drive was set on 31.01.2021.The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends all children be fully vaccinated against polio. The first year and second year students of Faculty of Education (B. Ed.) participated in this weakened polio virus given by mouth (OPV) campaign as the Institutional Responsibility with full of enthusiasm and excitement.

Community Service to ‘Children’s Home of Hope’

A Community Service held at "CHILDREN'S HOME OF HOPE " on 10th August, 2019. The service was facilitated by Dr.V.N.Rajavarman, Deputy Dean with prayer at 9.30am. We offered note books, snacks and stationary items as a token of love. We also conducted programmes like Singing, Games, Drawing, Antakshari etc. Winners were awarded by the gifts. We also got hand craft return gifts which was made by them. So totally it was wonderful day for everyone.

Community Service to Anandam – a Free Home for Senior Citizens

On 4.1.2020 as an inception of the year 2020, we payed a visit to Anandam - A free home for senior citizens, a public charitable trust at Kallikuppam, Ambattur, Chennai 53 as a first ISR event. Thirty one students from first year B. Ed. and five faculty members were part of the programme in cleaning the home and had compassionate interaction with those housemates which engraved an emotional memory. A small contribution from the management, faculty members and students of first year B. Ed. was given to the trust.

Pulse Polio Camp 2020

B.Ed first year students from Faculty of Education, Dr. M.G.R Educational and Research Institute attended and actively participated in the ‘Pulse Polio Camp’ at various centres in Chennai and rendered their service in the societal responsibility event on 19th January, 2020.
