Passionate Scientists for Invention Centres

(For immediate Recruitment)

Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute (MGRERI), Chennai, a Deemed to be University established u/s 3 of UGC Act 1956 in 2003 has grown into a University with Graded Autonomy Status (Awarded by UGC) with NAAC (A Grade), NIRF Ranking (27) and ARIIA Ranking (in Top 25). Dr MGRERI comprises of 15 Faculties/Colleges with 33 Centres of Excellence and has a student strength of 14,500+ and faculty strength of 1,250+. MGRERI has ventured into an ambitious research expansion programme at its Advanced Research Institute (ARI), their research arm functioning from 2009.

Under this Programme, 12 Invention Centres(IC) will be created with focus on Hardcore research leading to Inventions and Patents.

  • There will be only 2 Scientists in each IC; Therefore, they should be capable of covering the entire spectrum of the Domain of respective ICs.
  • Role of Scientists: To identify research problems and patentable ideas as solutions
  • Scientists will be provided with Smart Research scholars in large numbers to facilitate "Research Output Multiplication"
  • "High Risk - High Reward" problems/issues will be taken up for research
  • Dr MGR DU will have a new branch of Research Degree "PhD by Invention"
  • Research projects will be executed in 3 Tier mode, with "Scientists-PhD Scholars-Project Teams" performing the "Plan-Develop-Execute" functions

Qualification:Ph.D from reputed national or foreign institutions and having passion for research.
