Activities: 
Research Projects:
- An AICTE sponsored R&D project of Rs. 5.0 Lakhs in “Environment safe and hazard mitigated ventilated dry type transformer”, by Dr. A.A.Natarajan is in progress.
- A MODROB proposal “Upgradation of Digital Simulation Lab for Design Development & Education” was selected for presentation and we are awaiting final approval.
Staff development program: At present 5 of our staff members are pursuing their PG program.
STTP - In the past 3 years about 13 staff members were sponsored for short-term training programs
Co-Curricular Activities : About 26 students have won prizes in paper presentation in various National level technical symposium conducted at different colleges.
All the staff & students of the department are members of Electrical & Electronics Technical Association ( EETA )
EETA activities
- Charity work - Every year our staff and students visit Udavum karangal and Pappyammal Raman Thayagam
- Electrudite –National Level Technical Symposium is conducted every year
The national level symposium for this year is planned on 4 th March.
- MINDEW- 2K2 departmental magazine was released last year
- THE GRID –News letter was released during the year 2003
- Traffic Control - Every day in the morning & evening our students help in traffic diversion in front of our college gate
- Competitions - Technical & non-Technical events are held to test & upgrade the knowledge of students. Prizes along with certificates are issued to the winners
7. Curious collection – an interdepartmental activity in which various items collected by students were displayed during the year 2002. This year Technical Collections is to be held on 4 th March.
8. Seminars - Weekly once seminars are arranged for both students and staff to upgrade their knowledge.

Alumni 
The school has sent out thirteen batches since 1988. 50% ofl the ex-students are working in premier institutions in Indial and abroad, some of the students are self employed. Every year 20 % of our students pursue their higher studies.
