    School of Architecture

Profile

The School of Architecture in Dr. M.G.R Education &Research Institure campus was started in the year 1993 with all intake of 40 students. The school has been recognized by AICTE, New Delhi. The broad objective of the course is to integrate theory and practice, to enable the students to develop skills.

Academics

The School offers five year full time graduate degree program, with future proposal of introducing M.Arch, M.S, & Ph.D. programs.



Faculties and Staff

The School is headed by Prof.Lt.Col.(Rtd) A.B.Das., with Prof.Md.Haris (Former Dean, School of Architecture and Planning, Anna University), as Advisor. Two of our faculty members are pursuing PhD in Anna University.

Facilities

The School is well equipped with the state of art - Library, Computer studio, Material museum, Design court and Construction yard.

Activities

The students of this school have been actively participating in NASA national conventions and have distinguished themselves well by bringing home many laurels for the school. The South zone meet was organized by our school in September 2002.

Achievements

Our students have won the special mention for G-Sen trophy in NASA national convention 2002 held in Mumbai. The final year students have won 2nd and 3rd prizes in the INSDAG national level Steel Design competition 2003 and have bagged 1st and 2nd place in the Housing Design competition at national level, organized by Century Plywood Ltd.,

Alumni

The school has sent out five batches since 1998.50% ofl the ex-students are pursuing higher studies in premier institutions in Indial and abroad, many students are engaged in practice and self employed.
