The department has done a lot of research work over the years. The department has developed concrete with bottom ash and waste materials from thermal power plants. It has also developed concrete using construction debris in place of granite stones. It has investigated the energy absorption capacity of hollow circular sections filled with concrete using fly ash as well as quarry dust.

The department has developed soil blocks made with locally available materials like, earth, scrap of iron, thermacol which can be used as regular bricks. The great advantage of this product is that it does not require any energy in the manufacturing process.

  • Technical papers are published in various areas of Civil Engineering.
